2022 Creative Quilting and Sewing Classes

Our classes have been designed for all level quilters and sewers.  Come share your tips and we will learn together.  There are no bad techniques, just those we all desire to learn and share.

Open Sew
Do you need some time and space to create or finish your next masterpiece?  Join us as we gather by the fireplace and around our classroom table. Spend some uninterrupted time working on your project, connect with other quilters and get inspiration on your next project.
Bring your own sewing machine, cutting mat, rotary cutter and your project.  The ironing stations will be available.  Open Sew is held while the shop is closed to the public.  Space is limited so sign up early.

“The term 'Stipple Quilting' refers to 'free-motion' straight stitching done in small, soft, curvy, puzzle-like shapes. Lines of stitching do not intersect or touch. It is a preferred quilting method for small, open areas on quilts.” 

Stipple quilting and meander quilting are two birds of a feather.

"Take Four" Placemat Class
This is a quick and easy project class.  You will complete a set of four placemats during class with instructions to make several other styles.

Three For One: Logs & Stars Quilt

Join us to learn how to turn a simple log cabin block into this beautiful display of logs and stars.
This class will demonstrate the use of the Strippy Star Tool & the Log Cabin Trim Tool.
The technics covered will enable you to complete three different projects.

Binding 101

Minimum class size: 2 people

This class will cover how to add binding to your masterpiece, including how to create a mitered corner.  As time allows Lucie will instruct on how to create binding strips on the bias and attaching binding to a curved item.

Star Candy Punch Needle 


Punch needle projects are made using a loose weave fabric, Valdani threads and a punch needle tool.  The threads are pressed through the fabric to create loops   These tightly packed loops create pressure that holds the piece in place to create little works of art.  In this class you will learn how all the basics of this relaxing technique to start your journey in Punch Needle.

How to make a Quilt: Beginners 101

This class is for a “first timer.” We will cover basic tools and how to use them, understanding patterns, fabrics & how to select them and more.  Students will complete a simple quilting project in class.
